The map shows a selection of villages with a larger number of Hozo speakers on both sides of the Dabus River. The list is not complete, as research south of the Dabus River still is lacking. The two clan/dialect areas are also noted: Shirí in the north and Marami in the south. The extent to which the language variants exhibit a purely geographical distribution or are primarily tied to clan affiliation still requires further investigation.
